Our Approach to Ministry

The ministries of Community Bible Church are a result of our vision - "To develop mature believers in Christ, who  become involved in shared ministry, (Ephesians 4:11-13).  It is our desire and aim that all believers at CBC "press on to maturity." (Hebrews 6:1)

At Community, the leadership of the church is placed in the hands of a Pastor, Elders and Deacons.  Yet, the ministry is placed in the hands of everyone in the fellowship.  The Apostle Paul had over 70 people who were sharing his ministry!  It is imperative that everyone understand that this ministry is God’s and He has given this ministry to all of us to share!

This church seeks to practice a Biblically based model of “shared ministry”. 

• Understanding the picture of the “Body of Christ” is vital for an understanding of the function of ministry in the NT Church 
• Christ is the head of the church, He Himself being the Savior of the body. (Ephesians 5:23)
•  Every believer is gifted by the Holy Spirit to serve the Lord in the Body of Christ (I Corinthians 12-14; Ephesians 4 and Romans 12)
• The leadership of the NT church was entrusted to faithful men, (2 Timothy 2:2) 
•  The NT is filled with “dependent leaders”, dependent upon one another, Acts 9:10-18.  And, the Holy Spirit, Ephesians 5:18 
•  Paul taught that leaders should be prepared to minister to the body of Christ.  (Ephesians 4:11-18)
